Toxicity of desire how to change desire into positivity

When the words “Toxicity of desire” are used to form such a phrase the assumption is desire is toxic. But when desire is spoken of as a necessity in the mending of success stories you must best be questioning: How to change desire into positivity.

Toxicity of desire: Lessons from normal humans at the clinic and a hyena in the jungle.

My second dose of vaccine came on September 13, 2021. On this day I and other tens and tens of people at the clinic offended their reason of existence. It was a kid suffering from a malnutrition condition at the clinic which everyone ignored. His mother had to stand in the queue with us and behind much of us. Yet we were not ill.

It was the desire of anyone visiting the clinic to get all his/her issues solved earlier and leave. After all, spending hours at the clinic waiting for a jab that is two weeks overdue is not desirable. The woman and her malnutrition kid had to first pass through the temperature tests, and everyone including all of us who were healthy and had visited to get a jab had to. The temperature test process wasn’t anything to consume more than five minutes. But none allowed the kid a slot ahead of him/her. Excuses ranged from “I left my doors not locked” to “I have a visitor at my home”.

A young laughing hyena found itself the only of its kind alive in the plain. A terrible drought had hit, two years had passed without any rains until two weeks ago. For three days it rained softly and calmly as if to quench the tears of losses the wildlife had endured. But there was not much among the stocks of the living wildlife to answer to it positively as it wasn’t a guarantee of a smooth ever raining after. Calves, cubs and other offsprings, the signs were, were insignificant in numbers this year. And the surviving hyena simply had to learn to survive more by trying to hunt alone whereas hyenas are group hunters.

After the rain and floods after it, the hyena followed deposited material looking for anything to eat until it joined a pack of vultures on a carcass that was almost zero meat left. The mother to this young one had taught her that a thin layer of cartilage and the bone structure it wraps around the knee joins was the most delicious treat in the jungle. The young hyena found the front leg stripped of all the meat upon arrival and dragged it towards sloppy ground since such required her to be on a slope, on the downside of it, pin the bone with her legs while her teeth ate into it.

The vultures laughed. “Why is she ignoring the little meat left in favour of the bone, after all, we don’t eat bones.”

The meat was no match to what her mama had characterised as delicious and she would starve to death for that as she did it over and over, and day after day. With her age and the strength of her teeth taken into account, she could not eat many bones to cover up her nutritional needs. What could have saved her was not delicious but simply the meat.

Don’t chase for what’s exceptionally yours. Chase for what’s rare, for something that if missed you will never get a chance to possess it.

The toxicity of desire or the benefit of it

Usually in this life. We are shown the fancy things and that can make us like them. We are also shown that can afford them. Already when that happens our hearts are already loving it. What we are not shown are the true costs of affording that exact thing. The bigger cost is forgetting everything else that can matter. it is Forgetting a better life you can achieve without what you have been shown and which you can afford at serious costs. As we are probably all addicted people; that’s the second thing. Addiction plays a bigger part. It helps in showing us what we can afford and while hiding the costs of affording what we can afford.

A desire is irrational. So everything that plays in the chemistry of the heart is with its tendencies to cause harm unless it’s capitalised on to produce positives. Desire is said to be essential in building success. It is also heavily involved in erasing the possibilities of success. So, if the desire is toxic, why is it a benefit of it to the few others. Ladies and gentlemen each one of us, every second, is getting the toxicity of desire or the benefit of it.

If we are allowed to describe an adult life in the context of a moving bus with its passengers. Desire would not be the wheels. Desire is the driver. Each one of us is seated in the backseat and we can’t be heard all the time when we voice at our desires. We are very unlucky that we can’t control or stop the desire as long as our wheels of life are moving. What we can do is just to use it in building the most positive things in our lives.

It can be a desire to be happy. When you desire to be happy it means without being happy you are not fulfilled. The best you can do is to allow that happiness to be out of the least instead of the most you can find. In the same manner, successful people are people who simply directed desire into a bigger vision in life instead of simply allowing it to drive recklessly.

Changing desire into positivity

A desire is the inner working of the human’s wants. It’s the need to emotionally possess, control, be in charge, or even get free and exploit. A desire is largely a terrible thing than it is a good one. Grandfather and I had time to talk about the structures build from around 700 (Great Zimbabwe) to 200 (others) years ago in Zimbabwe. A novel is quoted by some as a source to prove that the stone structures were pilled up into UNESCO-heritage-class monuments at the cost of virtually any man involved in the constructed process. Men had to roll tonnes of stones without the aid of draught power or pulleys which weren’t our thing back then. The story in the novel picked at events happening not so many decades before the colonisation. The building of a second structure resembling Great Zimbabwe happened in the context of the king who wanted a tower that would allow him to touch the moon.

The novel is wrong as a work of fiction. But it truly showed us the true nature of us humans, and the question left is how to turn that terrible monster, desire, into something positive and make our lives better and the world better places? Here is how to change desire into positivity:

  • Build a vision, not plans. Construct a roadmap, don’t build a highway.
  • Build layers of good habits in you life daily. With good habits there is never enough of it. You can read “Atomic Habits” by James Clear.
  • Have all the detail that can matter in your life. Don’t be a stranger to yourself. Admit what you are to correct it from that point. It must not take anyone to point what you are not at par.
  • Do some value analysis of the things you may want to achieve before you can go for them. It is a great deal to know the value you can give to yourself, the society and your family and the meaning of it. Some things you desire when achieved can simply subtract.
  • Have a serious consideration for others. Though you can not give them your love you can give them your respect.
  • Self-respect is essential in making a person. It is a clear outline of what you can allow yourself to go through, to feel, to be and be involved in.
  • Don’t chase for what’s exceptionally yours. Chase for what’s rare, for something that if missed you will never get a chance to possess it. The hyena here did the opposite and ended up on the losing side.
  • Put some light into your past mistakes to know if toxic desire had been ionvolved in making them. Distance a mistake from a failure for a failure is a better fellow between it and a mistake.
  • Allow yourself to be wrong to be wrong to correct yourself. If you fall on the wrong side no one can imprison you for that. Judge yourself openly, and build yourself in the way.
  • Build inner superiority (interiority). It can beat outter superiority (superiority) or inner weakness (inferirioty). Watch a TedTalks video where this interiority thing is coming from.
  • Have the patience where it is needed not the confidence. Patience can referee your desire into proper results.

Ambition and desire. What you must know about these two makers of success?

‘Bambino! Ambition is a strong desire,’ that’s what my grandfather told me, breaking down the word in my mother tongue but Bambino alone (I really hated being a Bambino, as it was a strange thing to be). I was only 8 when I asked him what ambition is, and that was after I had read a book with short success stories. I still remember again the story in which I probably found this word for the first time, and I was struggling to read it. (Grandfather’s hints were powerful and I loved to read in his presence.) It was about an African lady (she played a sales-girl part in this James Bond movie) who co-ended up with a cosmetic company, Kubi. Patience played a big part in her journey. I can’t remember the story well and how she started but I have a lot of my childhood memories to share with someone if only I’m asked to.

Before you get what you desire, give what you want to result in what you desire what it desires to finally result in what you desire.

SubjectMe (Personal Diary)

As a noun, desire can cover usages that are reserved for ambition. It seems, however, that among the two, an ambition can contain a lot of desires. But there are slight differences between an ambition and a desire in that while both are the longing for, the need to get or to do and get over it in the way expected within ambition moves you while desire get you to move towards it or towards what you desire.

Desire as in the book Odyssey

If you desire something, there is a hundred per cent chance that you are not fulfilled. “Are you fulfilled or not?” That may be the question irrationally asked by your heart or that irrational mind. If not fulfilled you move towards what you desire. Desire is all rational. And this is how desire was used in Odyssey [Samuel Butler translation], one of the oldest books in history:

…while Autolycus desired his sons to get dinner ready.

Odyssey

May heaven grant you in all things your heart’s desire.

Odyssey: Ulysses talking to Nausicaa

I am sure he’s an excellent person, and I hope Jove will grant him his heart’s desire.

Odyssey: Aegyptius addressing men of Ithaca

She will be frightened, and will desire you to go to bed with her…

Odyssey: Book X, Aeolus, The Laestrygones Circe

May king Jove grant all happiness to Telemachus, and fulfil the desire of his heart.

Ulysses to Eumaeus

A desire is a special want to the heart, created by the heart, it is a passion, including for sex, and it is a wish. So you feel the desire. You have to achieve to be fulfilled. You have to get to be satisfied. When you are with a desire you are desiring you get to want something done or in your hands because you are by feeling not satisfied without it. Your emotions are in, too. And before you can get what you desire that desire is only a wish.

My ambition was a ‘donated’ one

Sadly, my grandfather died last year, 17 December (that aside), and I wrote this post weeping. He made a fellow I am today and, concisely, he was once my mom and my dad. He induced some ambition in me. A chemist-observer would say he ‘donated’ that ambition as if some fragments of ambition were patched into my little self.

Have you ever cherished something because someone pushes (mine was a soft-push) you to do so, directly or indirectly? My grandfather urged on me, I can say. He induced that ambition in me.

Every month it had became a norm, ‘I can’t buy you something special if you haven’t managed to achieve this …and this’. Life coaches encourage good friends around one because where this can all end is not only ideas shared but ambition. The donors of such ambition should stay to keep donating it.

Ambition as mindful desire

A desire is about satisfying the heart after it questions the status of your satisfaction and you admitting that you are not satisfied. An ambition brings rationality in, to transition any desires existing into mindful ones. You build an ambition through what you want (desire), how you want it (planning and expectations), the best means available to you to get it (your resources). But building an ambition, which is a process, is nothing at all if there is no next stage after the building process. The building process is like a dream, it won’t mean anything if the dreamer doesn’t get out of bed and work according to the dreams of the past night.

There are negative ambitions, too. Pitful ambition. Shallow ambitions. Because ambitions are simply built out of any foundation, negative or positive.

Ambition; Energy and goals.

But he has no ambition and no energy. He will not even go out of his way to verify his own solution, and would rather be considered wrong than take the trouble to prove himself right

Arthur Conan Doyle, Adventure IX, The Greek Interpreter

But he has no ambition and no energy; that is some serious detective talk there. The usage of energy and ambition in one line makes it fair to conclude that ambition needs to be that type of energy with its own goals, not a single goal. You can’t just strive for something you are not yet done registering it as a goal. An aggregate of goals together and a lot of energy powering them behind with an intention to achieve a single destination makes a healthy ambition moving you through a lot of desires towards what you want to achieve.

Goals need energy to be accomplished. The fusion is what ambition contains.

The energy in an ambition is that type of energy that can come and disappear at any time, and goals can exist without it. The uselessness of both when the one is missing and the other is calling for the presence of the other surely stands. A goal can never get addressed perfectly without some inner energy. Similarly, energy without any strategic goals can lead one into a disastrous fate.

Ambition is definitely something quite disputed but it’s never everything. Many agents are needed for one to be successful one day. It all depends on the type of success, the scale of success you may want to achieve and where you want to achieve it. Is it leadership or just loving the human race?

Ambition can be on achieving negative destinations. A destination is just a name.

Ambition

Have you noticed the relationship? The energy makes you reach the destination. It makes you move. But how can you move blindfolded, without the goals, you will never reach the destination. On the same note, given the direction, you will never go anywhere without moves.

Why ambition shoud include energy?

English borrowed ambition from Latin between the 14th century and the 16th centuries. The unsettledness of politicians in Ancient Rome when persuading the city to vote for them was unmatched and that was ambitio.

Between wants, needs and purpose is a conflict. Between needs and wants is a purpose.

Needs, wants, purpose conflict.

What is a purpose? It is an outline of destinations, stops, starting points and journeys that saves a function in your life especially the one to prove the reason for your existence. It’s what you are living for not what you live with. Hence, a purpose is anything that can produce positive and enjoyable results in the long run if listened to.

What are needs? Needs are the very basic essentials you cannot live without. Needs are a requirement to every good state you enjoy in your life including life itself not death, happiness, and all other positives. Needs are the fuel everyone moves with. Shelter, clothing and food are good examples.

What are wants? Sometimes are neither basic nor essential. They are just what they are in our desires, a sense of our pride. Sometimes wants are extra essentials for those who can afford them. Whilst food is a need, a $200 dinner can be a want, especially when I need to borrow to afford it.

Your life is complete without your effort going into pushing forward a personal purpose or, in fact, without
ever having to come up with something that is purpose. Putting your purpose between wants and needs is downscaling that dinners down to something else, and use the change to put forward what’s in your plans and vision.

Mostly it’s fifty-fifty. Our effort, resources, time, money, strength and attention is half into our needs and half again into our wants. A thirty-three-and-a-half allocation would be necessary to each of the three. Our needs. Our wants. Our purpose. Because difference is made in including purpose in, not in the two we usually crowd our attention and effort in.

Success is a reward to a certain performance achieved and done purposefully. It comes when the tools at your exposal are used in such a way that they can only serve a function in your life. It comes when we focus more on what does pay in the future.

The conflict between the three is in the fact that what you put into acquiring your wants, once you put it there, it can’t be put into your need or purpose. You can’t have all of the three out of each dime, each minute and resource in your possession.

The essentials and the function, needs and purpose.

Needs are essential you cannot live without them. In counting your needs include the intangible ones like your happiness. You need to be happy and that’s essential in this life; that whenever a stream of sadness crouches in you find yourself equipped enough to pacify it and fare well even in grief. Most of the time happiness is an acquisition, and you must place a higher bid on the inner side to win it.

Once your needs are covered the advancements at the personal level can only come from acquiring or giving attention to those things that are functional. And that’s how purpose is achieved. A good example is in one of the paragraphs above. There are times when even dining is no longer done as an essential but a waste. When covering yourself is no longer an essential but more than you should exercise for you to have something left to push other productive things in your life, after having eaten a cheaper functional meal.

Function and purpose are also achieved if you choose to attain “feeling good” before “looking good“. It is a great thing to go with the little, live in the little if you are with an intention to achieve the most.

The things we can afford should not be things we can afford at a serious cost of our time, finances, resources, etc. To afford them at a lesser cost it can be a good thing to ignore them in the meantime while we buy functional items. Function pays. The function is discovered, and once you discover it you must allow purpose to be in your visibility so that you can step up.

What to chase after? Chase for rare opportunities.

What to chase after in life? This is a good question to ask because every second you meet a situation in which you must decide between two or more things; between what’s good and what’s bad; between what’s present and what’s absent; between what’s satisfying in the present and what may bring satisfaction in the future, and so on. In our journeys to greatness or our demise, the choices we make are then followed by priorities and motives to determine the extent of our success.

Chase for things that you will never have a chance to once gone

If you don’t get into marriage at eighteen it means at twenty you can get a chance, if not so at twenty-five you can get it, if not at twenty-five maybe at thirty-five or later than that. It is exceptionally your thing that one day you will be in marriage if you want to be in a marriage one day. But most of the time we fight hard for the things that are exceptionally ours, the things we can get any time later than now, and forget the things that if not achieved now there is never to be a chance, ever.

If I lose that interview for a top job, chances are I will not find another top job interview earlier. It’s a chance that if erased it’s erased for sure and I can’t have a voice at it. It is what to chase after and fight for.

If a certain type of cancer crouches into a family. Then suddenly it’s curable for the time being before it gets into an incurable stage at a cost that can leave the family three times poorer than it is now. Wasting money on it is better than not. Because curing it now is a chance that if erased it won’t be available two years after whilst money is a different thing.

If you chase for the things that are rare and simply wait for those that are exceptionally yours and, therefore, not rare to you, you can flourish. By doing so you are approaching your desire and have it result in more positives than negatives as desire can be toxic. Because by default we are bound to simply chase after the things that are exceptionally ours, save that money in the account while a family member suffers from that cancer. The thing is those things that are exceptionally ours are enticing.

At the family level, in corporate systems, at the national level and in religious organisations, some decisions made wrongly involved chasing after things that were exceptional and not rare to the group. Nokia foresaw the hints of its downfall in early 2009 when the iPhone’s form-factor was proving to be a big deal. Instead of just delivering a complete device that would be at the market with more than iPhone’s offering they simply put only a camera to their usual hardware, those things they had become experts in delivering. A capable Operating System was needed and the money to even give developers with the most downloads, free, and therefore build a perfect app store by subsidizing developers with numerous downloads. A fluid capacitative touchscreen instead of the “ATM touchscreen tech”/TFT resistive touchscreen was needed. That screen came in November 2009, almost three years after Apple had introduced it.

There are times when new strengths must be built instead of just investing in those we have already. Chasing must be reserved for what’s rare or what’s not in our possession. That being said there are sometimes when something is not rare but just a thing not in our possession. At a personal level, this even inhibits building more better habits. Useful ones we don’t have are always left out in the habit-building system in favour of strengthening the ones in us already.

Success is rare than the opposite of it. Sadness is just an inch away from you while happiness is miles off. Spreading your bed every morning you wake up is a habit as easier to live in than other habits that must be involved in building your true path. So, it’s success, it’s happiness, building the true path to success, among other things, that you must chase after.

The illusion of good life is living in credit.

The illusion of good life is a costful life and an enemy to success

The life you want, if I give it to you now, you can live the worst you can in your future. And I will not give you that!

My uncle, when he said this, meant that the quality and quantities of meals I desired and the care I longed to be given were expensive, and would not be achieved at once with what he was delivering then. Yes, we had the worst meals in the neighbourhood, but that care and quality I desired in my life and my meals, respectively, was an illusion of good life. He meant that affording what we can afford is never wrong. But we mostly do so at a scale of costs that are fatal in the books of either our success or our true happiness and satisfaction.

I didn’t see that the cheaper meals, and my going for a month without having tasted meat, among other things, allowed much to be left in the hands of the provider, my uncle. Left with a bit more the selfless provider would move on to pump money into our pockets after each gig I and other boys performed as assistant roofing carpenters. That money wasn’t really a lot but it was much to us. As for me, it was a big step ahead.

We mostly live at a credit. We would rather live at a credit than have the least we don’t heavily pay for and then go on to make the most with the least.

Cheaper meals are the least. But they guaranteed a $40 payout instead of $5 per contract. A $40 payout helped to put my imagination into a vision.

Quickly I learned, you can easily buy your misery back if you choose to have the most that your income can’t afford at zero credit. “Credit” in this usage here does not translate to debt. It is our potential we sell away through the illusion of buying some good life.

The things you get free in this life when others are paying properly and waiting for the right time to be able to enjoy them are what you pay for with your life. If not your life it must be your chances of succeeding in this life.

Why things are as in the statement above?

The system in this world is one paying. Anyone of us may be smarter in any sense. To get whatever s/he can get free. But s/he can pay for what s/he doesn’t pay for with his/her chances of seeing greater things in life.

It is cheaper to be the least you can be. Because in being that you can make the most. If you can add things like a vision in building your life, the “least path” can always leave you with the most to put into your vision.

In most cases, we think success is driven by a few things. I believe that patience and all other few items are all you can have. Someone else can say it’s desire. But the true thing is success comes through being a high-performance person in as many components, mentalities, aspects and practices that drives it.

In your journey to success, these thoughts can get you far.

Quick thoughts to get you by in your journey to success.

We are accustomed to thinking that success and greatness are achieved through hard work. That is never wrong when success is defined as how you fare in a competition setup. A hard worker can be anyone among us. But hardworking is scarcely rewarding alone.

That’s why there should be hard thinking, too. Hard thinking, thinking that becomes a personal philosophy with not only escape routes but fighting styles, when combined with moderate working and sleepful nights can bring goodies into our lives.

Work must cease to be hard work to become a working work. When you can’t conquer, you find means to do that. By default we are all bound to fail. The way to change this is you and not anyone. You are the one to tweak original you into someone who is but to be successful. The inner invincibility beats the outer invincibility. Have it developing in you.

I don’t wish to see success coming during the first try. Success must remain harder to attain so that it can only remain success that is for those who deserve it. For success is proof that you really wanted it and it had to happen. It is also success again to have the best version of happiness in your hands that others don’t.

Success is not hardworking as they say. It may be the depth of the tweaking you do to what’s the default. In this world, we are sometimes taught to remain into what’s default to help build success for others.

Sometimes you need to retire out of the competition and simply beat them. In a big company, to succeed you are expected to have five PhDs, one or two achievements in other companies. Behind you, there must be hints of hard work as expected ahead. Does this all mean without having the brilliance and the chance to earn the PhDs you can not achieve?

Break out of thinking cycles to create a line that shoots up in a straight line that grows up. New forms of doing it can make doing the same thing a big difference. People who can’t qualify to be CEOs are people who own the production line, so they simply declared themselves CEOs out of what they came up with. They faced struggles but they couldn’t be brave enough to keep facing failure forever.

The world always existed before you were there. If you think you are born early. Well! Some thinking is always there earlier for you to only take it as your thinking. The world has been influenced in your absence. Where you find it disagreeing with you. Do fight it. Influence it. Don’t hesitate to influence the world. Because in your absence the worst can influence it and keep turning it into a bad place.

Don’t do a business. Do your business. Don’t plan. Build a vision. Don’t travel. Construct a roadmap. Don’t desire to be successful. Build your own definition of success and live in it. After that erase the definition when it’s limiting.

Any definition is good except when it’s in place to defeat the freedoms of other beings.

There may be things to avoid in life. You are taught about them in life, growing up, at school and at home. It’s fifty-fifty. But most of the time instead of being taught to avoid you are taught to hate.

Hate spreads over. Spills into other related things. With hate, there s no ‘do it your own way’ you just hate. With avoiding you can avoid it your own way. Some successful people in the world of tech including in the addicting gaming industry didn’t have to hate the screen as it is a time waster to be detested. They avoided what they avoided on the screen in their own ways and allowed their success to come through the same screen.

In other words, don’t know what to hate. Know what to avoid.

After all, it’s better to be a victim of falling in love than a victim of hate.  For a victim of hating something not really negative is always a victim.

So, don’t say “I really hate it” as it is invincible to say “I don’t like it very much” — because in the latter there is room to change.

Most people who get their freedom fail to utilise it. If you don’t have the freedom you are just unlucky. That’s why you must create that freedom. You must waste no time fighting for very unnecessary freedoms, just influence things to get it.

Allow ambition to be what you balance on not what you move by.

7 ways of bringing in your failures to help in bringing your success

The impact a failure in your life can make is simply a result of how you take that failure as or how you take it in building the possibilities of your success in the future. You don’t build bridges without the roads behind them in mind, and such roads are the roads you constructed best as much as they are roads you failed.

  1. Have a detailed means of looking into your failure apart from the results of what you did.

You have failed to generate money.  You have tried and trying couldn’t produce any better results. The first thing you communicate to yourself is a failure, and you’re likely to use the generated money which is not a profit at all as a point to determine your failure.

It’s a good thing not to look at results alone but the vehicles you travelled through in you journey and all that got you into starting. Allow your failure to also become  (1) failure to have money (capital) result into more money and (2) failure to have what seemed to be your best idea result into what the best idea can result in.

  1. Judge your failure like you are a legal system

Act as if crime is a failure. Put those pieces of evidence of your failure in and fail to be your attorney and keep yourself ‘in trouble for a while’. Failures that are our habits may need correct judgement. Without a correct judgement, you can never take yourself as failing if a spending habit is failing you. By nature we humans defend habits. Learn to go by ‘something can be wrong’.

Sue yourself. Admit that you’re wrong, and you can never face imprisonment. The truth can allow you to have some better clarity. A good sniper does his dirt work in an elevated space where he can see all.

  1. Correctional routes

A deeper conversation with yourself with no wall of pride to build or pride to defend works. Be born again in each conversation. Try new tactics, and if you’re withholding too much try to lose a bit more. Keep your paths clean of bias. Try also to put someone who sees things the way you see them into the issue. Give that person a better view to see and help you in all of it.

You’re not a school of thought be flexible. It can help you to fit into what’s appropriate at the time.

Failures, if read them correctly, can help in character change. Since, however, they stand in the path towards attaining our desires we are inclined to hate them more and push them aside as we try to make a better future.

  1. Failures are obviously in the past, the fact that you didn’t drown through them is encouraging

Don’t be stuck because your life is not over yet. If you mourn failures they can bury you alive. Just move out of them to be in your future.

Quickly forgive your failures and yourself. Don’t forget them. You can always have a quick reference from them and it’s good.

Experience is not a type of play, It’s an outcome of plays behind, lost matches and won matches. It matters more than your love of winning.

  1. Failures are probably not just failures
  • They are failures, the final outcome that is not anticipated, or that is totally negative.
  • They contain hints key to achieving success, and all what might be needed for any kind of breakthrough.
  • They are obvious wins in them,  but not powerful enough to to beat failures in such failures.
  • Hints for breakthrough are not the breakthrough itself. They are just items waiting to be thrown in the next attempt at the rightful moments after a certain effort is already put in
  • A guide into what you need to do to increase your odds of winning
  1. There is nothing called an opportunity, and you fail not because it wasn’t there

If you believe that your past failures happened because you lacked the opportunity you’re only creating disasters for yourself. You’re the best opportunity best available to yourself. By just forgetting there’s opportunity in the vocabulary of success you’re opening vast chances for your breakthrough.

An opportunity is something not in your control. Forget it because you don’t need it as you’re the best moving opportunity available to you in each blink of an eye.

  1. Your failures and their failures are crucial in your complementary learning

Complementary learning in this case is some learning that enhances your formal studies (what’s taught or what you teach yourself) that are never adequate without a learning through being given questions to answer, creating questions to answer, answering questions and being answered when you ask.

My personal wish was to become a mobile app developer. I failed, I failed even to master any meaningful programming stuff. In the mix were things like lack of resources, no tech-acquainted people around me and Google’s Play Store was only open for the business of developers in two countries in my continent when I started, and it only meant that I could only upload the app without getting to monetise.

Complementary learning is when I chase after the knowledge to get my app to sell, and to be able one day to employ a capable team. It is chasing after the knowledge I didn’t have then as it is about extracting the “reasons why such a failure can happen”. Their failures and your failures are good watering holes to swell your current dreams with success.

In short, your failures in the past should have you learn more to add to the stuff you’re formally learning and come up with “the right knowledge of applying knowledge.”

You are not a company but you can have the means to capture a better detail about yourself. The detail is better if unbiased and present in infinity quantity.

Don’t be a stranger to yourself. Admit what you are to correct it from that point. It must not take anyone to point what you are not at par. Therefore:

  1. Before you can spend money know how much you’re earning a month, a year, a decade and in what pattern. Because this is essential in building self-made success and success involving money.
  2. Take records on your life as a company efficiently run. Record finances, and it’s a good thing to do if you want to give a smartphone in your palms a more productive stuff. You don’t have to leave it to people who are well-to-do to exercise it.
  3. Your journal and diary, or whatever book of reference  you might wanna come up with and give it a strange name like SubjectMe, must cease to be an emotional ground and a territory for building abstract perspectives like this one and theories that can work in your life or career.

The three points above are in the context of one attempting to achieve financial success. But you can try the same in any aspect of life you may wish to be great in. You can also build your own life principles. The dos and the don’ts. Break out of an existing thinking cycle when you do so.

Admitting what you are can help you to record and interpret an unbiased you. And probably there is more detail apart from what journal can capture, you need it well preserved because our minds are good at forgetting. The detail a life of an achiever requires before it becomes a life of achievements is the detail about what’s going on in it. That detail is input (to your brains), and input is required for a certain output to be achieved.

Even without documenting it, the detail you can have about you (who is that?) is for building “what can work” for you. With all your detail at your exposure, you now have to be a person who prefers to throw to the mind questions as input to get an output that is an answer, not a question or an end to itself.

Here is the logic that doesn’t get stuck, and it answers a situation:

WHY AM I HERE?

NOT

I AM HERE NOW

The thing is our minds are powerful processors. It is a good thing to ask them “Why the apple has fallen down instead of up” than to tell them “The apple has fallen down now.” Grammar rules had it that falling is just for down not for up. A good question to the mind goes against the rules and it can make a Newton out of an average or the worst scholar.

By default, we are always what we are in everything we face, and default every one of us is “I am here now.” Greater things in life, however, requires that tweak what’s default and put in our own. Tweaking puts our processors into a new scene to process stuff in.

A processor processes an input, an input to a powerful processor must be hefty if what’s desired is a meaningful output. Giving a $300,000 stone crushing unit a tiny pebble is just as telling the mind “I am here now” and expecting loads of stone quarry.

The thing is, your presence is not a mistake except when you take it as a mistake. Your presence is already an invitation to the right course of action. You don’t take it seriously, you’re only fighting yourself. Grease your mind and your thinking with a now-and-then contemplative mood that begins by asking unorthodox questions that need urgent and no-compromise answers. A question is the beginning of greater things in life, and it can help you to admit that you’re not there yet and it works with you in creating possibilities of being there.

In one blog post here learning is defined as (1) being taught or teaching yourself and (2) being answered or answering yourself, or asking yourself or being asked questions to answer, or being answered or answering yourself before you even get to know that the question you are answering or you are being answered is even a question. We are all people with Masters as far learning by being taught or teaching ourselves is concerned, but what we all are need an extra higher ground for clarity.

Higher ground for clarity!

A sniper picks a higher ground, questions the wind speed on how it will affect his bullet, questions his caummo; make the adjustments necessary to the current higher ground. Yet he’s supposed to boast to himself “I am going to take a good shot”. He only asks himself: How to take a good shot?

He is a man who received any training imaginable to be the best sniper. When he’s on that higher ground he can’t whisper, “I am good at this, each second ticking.” Appropriate is a question.

HOW TO BE GOOD AT THIS?

He is confident about what he learned in training but he must invite some learning through questions and answering questions appropriate to take a good shot. Sometimes he allows the detail about his previous ground to have some voice in answering the questions.

Have your Game-Changing Origins and allow it to shape the questions you ask yourself and the detail you build.

My name is Meinrad, I was born in 1995, My Game-Changing Origins includes that hour I had in Mr Pee-Price’s class. Pee Price introduced me, and the whole class, of course, to the Internet, just before I had made my first phone call, or before I had made any bruises with the digital world; his presentation was on search engines, their work, the Boolean logic and the bad side of the internet to avoid. What followed were two years ahead of understanding the internet, its structure and attempting to master one or two Web-Programming languages, and of falling in love with game development, all hoping to end up a self-employed game developer.

I was the first in the village to reach that far with the internet outside WhatsApp and Facebook, and I am still the first, and among the first in the whole district. That does have to mean something in my life.

A game-changing origin can be the pluses to a start that are too faint and too early in your lifetime. It must be so so that you don’t take it seriously. It is things that you have been through or just fascinating hints in your background. Like (when you want doubts about making a musician out of yourself) that church choir, among other things, you were part of as you were concluding your teenage that couldn’t sing well and your attempt at playing one or two instruments that were commendable.

It is things you have others, and others don’t have. Why things you have others don’t? Because you must be blind to those things that you don’t have to find the power to utilise what you have and fly high. Normally we are accustomed to thinking that the bigger we have the better we can achieve. We lament over the educations we didn’t have, the capital we don’t have and the connections we don’t have. Allowing the heart to beat in the game-changing origins is necessary when trying to break out of a thinking cycle.

I am the fifth in my village to reach university. That’s a plus. But not having a nice classic suit in my wardrobe is what I am likely to be led astray with and go on to address when my annual earnings are not over $500.

But when I am blind to what I don’t have I find myself writing to through that $120 second-hand laptop I managed to buy out of $370 I earned in 2020 instead of wearing a decent $50 suit every Sunday. And when I write to you I earn. And, finally, when $2000 is all per month I must be blind to what I don’t have just to advance my vision of owning the village’s first trademark(s).

Be blind to what you don’t have. In your backdrop, there are a lot of game-changing origins.

Discover don’t see things and build a proper perspective.

Before I dive into discover don’t see and build a proper perspective, allow me to be listened to by you as I say some things in life can never go without the other. A key needs a lock. The true value of what you do is in how you do it. You may do whatever you think to be the very definition of unique but without a unique method in doing it casual results are the result.

How you do it is packed with either clues or casualness. You are only able to be clueful when you are supposed to be clueless when you discover things instead of seeing them. By discovery, you are helping yourself to better help yourself. When discovering the same eye sees, but this time it allows helpful detail about what’s seen to reign and be available, or to exist.

There is a need to look at the same thing over and over only to find the way you see such a thing changing. When such a change happens, it’s not a change in the way you see things happening. It is a change in perspective. Perspective is always there when you see things, but it needs to be proper perspective, some perspective that is out of discovery. Discover don’t see and build a proper perspective.

Allow me to repeat it again: A proper change in the way you see things is the maker of seeing things through not just seeing things. It is seeing things by discovery. Discovery is a deeper eye with detail, detail essential to where it is needed the most, that detail is not ignorant to what you are capable of.

A perspective is shaped by the one giving it the light to see. Perspective shapes the thinking of one who shapes it. Discover don’t see and build a proper perspective.

You fail to change its shape, i.e. turn it into proper perspective, you only fail to create a person and environment you wish for yourself. Success in changing its shape is more than the success you may desire. Allow your eye to discover most than to only see things the most. The power is in your control. It’s either you win it or lose it. The power to command what you want your perspective to be, improper or proper. We mostly choose to lose it and live with what’s improper.

The harshness with only seeing things or what can be made by only seeing things is always there to stay. An improper perspective can take an individual shaping it to use twice, thrice or a million times the same effort to achieve the same thing or to never achieve it. Navigating is not just the knowledge to steer the vessel in the deeper waters. It is a campus that gives direction. Discover don’t see and build a proper perspective.

If it is a strategy a proper perspective is the most deeper understanding of what needs to be done and how it must be done as it is the most logical among the things put into the whole war you need to win. It is more than an eye can see. Hence, proper perspectives are discoveries.

Through a proper perspective, you don’t run away from your capabilities to be rescued by someone’s. You only learn to understand the value of you capabilities, and therefore discover what you are capable of and become a capable being from what you are.

In resolving conflicts proper perspectives are helpful. To lighten the burden. Things don’t need to be a finger-pointing game when there is a better understanding among the parties involved in the conflict.

What the college taught and failed to answer me before I dropped out.

Reasons for dropping out of college

Why did I drop out of college?_Chapter_4_Some of the things I was taught that kill the possiblity of my growth and success, and the growth of my nation are…

  • A job and its salary is all I need. This teaching came with three fallacies joined to have us believe that money is a place. In a chapter dedicated to this you’ll find that I concluded that a salary is between poverty and wealth, and it can toss its beholder anywhere it wishes when s/he doesn’t act on it to prove the invincibility of his/her choice, i.e a better life. The chapter will be no offence. It’s so much about explaining the failure of sub-Sahara to take off as it is about explaining my decision to quit.
  • I should specialise in my learning and in my doing the job, or diversify my income sources. What is this? A paradox? You’ll find out.

Related: Can poverty foreclose one’s capability to be successful?

  • I am not poor when I am poor. That we are all equal when not. Yet to be able to find what I don’t have, I must begin by admitting that I don’t have it. Knowing the reality as it is is greatness because it becomes possible to influence the world so that it becomes a better place to me as it is to someone out there. Unfortunately… Our garment is perforated and we are taught it’s not. And there are Two types of poverty I have managed to identify and put into use. I argue that we are taught to ignore one so that we could only have one to address to be able to conclude that we are not poor or unequal to them, and stay unintentionally under.
  • To hate capitalism not much but a bit so that I won’t be an enemy to it but one who avoids but one who avoids going up in the system as going up becomes unethical to him. I stay under and poor or unequal to another so that my own world is influenced in my absence. In the chapter on this one an example of the Jews is given. They learned to admit that they are poor earlier and moved on to address their own poverty, and were finally being able to create more wealth. When they needed a nation, they got it. Kurds couldn’t. Because wealth is influence, it can shape freedom and what’s desired by the current generation in the future. The education system doesn’t think so.
  • To compete not to cooperate with fellow learners who would eventually become the people I fill the society with. Cooperation is the power to do bigger things when without the power to. Without cooperation there is unjustified competition and rivalry which is not a good thing to us who are on the starting line. Because back in my village we can failed to share ideas, hire transport together to deliver our goods to a better market or buy machinery collectively or in small groups. We compete and everything is from hand to mouth decade after decade.
  • A starting point in business is nothing but a big loan or endowed owners who moves in grabbing shares. This is what our business school taught us, that wealth is accumulated or acquired not created. Wealth, however, must be created to end our poverty here in the less established world or inequality in the whole world.
